πŸŽ† Celebrate Independence Day in Style: 4th of July Fun, Festivities, and a Look at Home

As we gear up to celebrate America’s birthday this week, there’s something extra special about the 4th of July in Central Florida. From backyard BBQs to fireworks over the lake, Independence Day is more than just a holiday—it’s a celebration of community, freedom, and the place we call home.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Local Events to Check Out

Whether you're looking for family-friendly fun or just the perfect spot to watch fireworks, here are a few favorite local happenings:

  • Davenport’s 4th of July Celebration – A favorite for locals! Held on July 4th from 4 PM to 9:45 PM at the Lewis Mathews Sports Complex in downtown Davenport, enjoy live bands, food vendors, craft vendors, family activities, and a huge fireworks display at 9:15 PM.

  • Clermont's Red, White & BOOM – Held on July 4th from 5 PM to 9:30 PM, this lakeside celebration brings patriotic fun, live music, food trucks, bounce houses, and a firework finale over beautiful Lake Minneola.

  • Haines City Thunder on the Ridge – Held on July 4th from 4 PM to 10:00 PM in Lake Eva Park, Polk County’s largest fireworks display, paired with live entertainment, cold beer, food, kids’ activities, and much more.

🌭 Backyard BBQ Tips

Planning your own gathering? Here are a few quick tips to keep it stress-free and fun:

  • Prep ahead—marinate meats the night before and chop all the fixings early.

  • Create a red-white-and-blue drink station with fruit-infused waters and sparkling lemonades.

  • Don't forget sunscreen and bug spray—your guests will thank you!

🐾 A Quick Reminder for Pet Parents

While we enjoy the fireworks and festivities, don’t forget that this can be a stressful night for our four-legged family members. Do not plan to take them to celebrations and gatherings that will include fireworks, as many venues will not allow them for safety reasons. Keep pets indoors, play calming music, and make sure they have a safe space to retreat to if the booms get too loud. For pets that suffer from excessive anxiety, speak to your veterinarian about a prescription to help keep them relaxed for the evening. A little preparation goes a long way in keeping them calm and secure.

🏑 A Quick Note on Freedom & Homeownership

Independence Day is also a great reminder of how lucky we are to enjoy the freedoms we do—including the ability to own a home, build equity, and grow roots in a place we love. If you're thinking of buying or selling this summer, it’s a great time to take the next step.

Whether you're lighting up the grill or lighting up the sky with fireworks, I hope your 4th of July is safe, joyful, and full of memories. And if you're ever curious about the local housing market, I’m always here to help.

Happy 4th of July! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
